Applications for 2026 Scholarship are now closed. OCCS will be holding its Scholarship Public Auditions on June 14th at 2 pm at Knox United Church, Parksville(doors open at 1:30). This special concert is free and open to the entire community. We invite everyone to attend and support these emerging young artists.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must be a senior in high school applying for admission to a recognized university music program or a private performing arts conservatory music program in 2026.
Selection Criteria
Submit a 500 word statement clearly communicating the depth of commitment to a career in music with a focused plan toward career goals. Attach supporting documents of musical achievements and experience including letters of reference. See application form for details.
APPLICATION DEADLINE IS April 30, 2026
By May 15, 2026, all selected candidates will be invited to participate in a juried public audition scheduled after May 15. This will be the determining factor in selection of the scholarship winner. The music piece selected for the audition should be of sufficient complexity to showcase technical and interpretative skills.
Selection Process
Audition jurists will be professional teachers and/or professional performers selected by the Scholarship Committee and will determine the winner by simple majority vote.
The winning performer will receive $3,500 toward tuition and books for their first year in a university music program.
